I know everyone is dying to hear about the circus...

It was AWESOME!  I have never been to a cooler Mexican circus in my life!  The scary clowns, the high wire act without a net or harness, the "Globe of Death" with FOUR motorcycles inside!  Jess and I ate cotton candy as Joe kept trying to get the clowns to come and 'get' me (yes, I am afraid of clowns).  The only downer was the sad looking giraffe.  Some people left after seeing it, but I think that giraffes pretty much always look sad...

Another jam-packed weekend ahead.  We have an exciting wardens meeting to look forward to on Sat, followed by a BBQ in Lucea, and then we're spending the night in Negril.  Sunday will be dedicated to throwing ourselves off cliffs and into the ocean.

I'll be loading more pics onto my other website soon.... keep an eye out for that!

I hope everyone is doing well....

Yea!  Friday!  What more needs to be said?

My classes have started with a bang!  My afternoon class has been jam packed every day this week.  Monday was too awesome, as Jess and I had the kids make anti-violence/peace signs.  The kids really got into it... we had them each make a few signs, then we went around to shops in Flanker to put them up.  As we were walking around the community the kids were holding up their signs and yelling "We want peace, put down the guns!" over and over.  Somehow putting up signs turned into a Peace March through the community.  The best part was that it was all student driven... they came up with the slogans, made the signs, asked the shopkeepers to put them up, and started yelling for peace.  The whole time Jess and I kept looking at each other and laughing.  We could tell it was one of those moments that will be remembered forever; a genuine Peace Corps moment.  Yea, us! (and the kids, of course)

This weekend should be fun.  A bunch of people are coming into town.  Most of them are 76ers (the new group... I'm in group 75).  I haven't had a chance to really get to know a lot of them, so it should be interesting.  Plus, the circus is in town... and yes, I'm going to the circus.  Some people don't want to go because of the whole animals kept in tiny cages and made to perform thing, and I understand that.  But I'm still going.

I have been getting regular e-mails from D in China, and he sounds like he's doing well.  He's making plans to travel all over Asia, and I'm soooooo jealous.

Yesterday was quite an experiance.... there was an island-wide protest and Flankers residents blocked the road.  There wasn't any violence, but it slowed down traffic for miles around.  There was no power from the night before, and we spent the day sleeping and taking showers to avoid thinking of the heat.  Thankfully we got current back in the late afternoon, so I was able to watch "Sex and the City" with the fan pointed at me.

I've added two new pictures to my album (Robin 4).  I think every one needs to check out the last picture of Jess and I in our Halloween costumes.  We had too much fun for words that night...
